This article highlights key sections of Danish electrical regulations relevant to Hybird installations. It is for reference only and does not replace professional knowledge of the current Danish installation rules: the Installationsbekendtgørelsen under the Elsikkerhedsloven, implemented through the DS/HD 60364 standard series.
RCD requirements
Danish regulations require residual current protection (30 mA) for socket outlets and certain other circuits in new installations. Hybird RCBOs provide individual 30 mA earth leakage protection per circuit, satisfying this requirement. Alternatively, a Hybird RCD can provide group protection upstream of Hybird MCBs.
Type B RCDs for DC-capable equipment
For circuits feeding equipment that may produce smooth DC fault currents — such as EV chargers, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and certain inverters — Type B residual current protection is required.
Hybird RCDs are Type B as standard, detecting AC, pulsating DC and smooth DC residual currents. Hybird's standard RCBOs contain a Type A RCD, which covers AC and pulsating DC; for smooth DC circuits, use the Hybird Type B RCD. Check current regulations and equipment manufacturer requirements for specific circuits.
Documentation requirements
Danish regulations require electrical installations to be documented. The Hybird OS Platform provides detailed records of the installed system (breaker inventory, Modbus IDs, circuit assignments, measurement history) which can supplement the required installation documentation.
Installer certification
Hybird installations must be performed by a certified electrician (autoriseret elinstallatør) as required by Danish law. Only Hybird Certified Contractors should install, commission, and service Hybird hardware.
CE certification
All Hybird breakers are CE and RoHS certified, covering both EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) and LVD (low voltage directive) requirements. Certificate copies are available on request from [email protected].
Important note
Electrical regulations are updated periodically. Always refer to the current edition of the Installationsbekendtgørelsen and the DS/HD 60364 standard series, together with the relevant IEC/EN product standards. Note that the older Stærkstrømsbekendtgørelsen was replaced by this framework and no longer applies to new installations. If you are unsure about compliance for a specific installation, consult the relevant authority or a qualified compliance specialist.
