Overview
Hybird uses a standardised naming scheme for its breakers, controllers, and components. Understanding this naming convention helps you identify the correct product for your installation and troubleshoot compatibility issues. This guide explains how to decode model numbers and SKUs.
Breaker model naming convention
Hybird breakers follow this naming pattern:
HY-[PRODUCT TYPE]-[CURVE][AMPERAGE][POLES][CONTACT COUNT]-[VERSION]
Example: HY-RCBO-B16C4P3A-V2
Component breakdown
HY = Hybird product designation
PRODUCT TYPE: The type of protective device
RCBO: Residual current breaker with overcurrent protection (combines RCD and MCB functions)
MCB: Miniature circuit breaker (overcurrent protection only)
RCD: Residual current device (earth leakage protection only)
CURVE: Trip characteristic curve
B: Curve B (low-threshold tripping, sensitive to inrush currents; typical for residential and light commercial circuits)
C: Curve C (medium-threshold tripping; general purpose, typical for motor circuits or circuits with moderate inrush currents)
[VERIFY: Whether other curves such as K or Z exist in the Hybird range]
AMPERAGE: Rated current in amps
2-pole breakers: 6, 10, 13, 16, 20, 25, 32, 35, 50, 63, 80, 100
4-pole breakers: 10, 16, 20, 25, 32, 50, 63, 80, 100
POLES: Number of poles and configuration
2P: 2-pole (single phase + neutral; for single-phase circuits up to 32 A)
4P: 4-pole (three-phase + neutral; for three-phase circuits)
[VERIFY: What 3A (or similar) in the "3A" part of the model string "B16C4P3A" represents. Possibilities: trip time class, contact arrangement, sensitivity rating for RCD, or other specification]
VERSION: Product revision
V2: Version 2
V3: Version 3
[VERIFY: Whether V2 and V3 coexist in production, whether V1 is still available, or whether V2 is the current minimum supported version]
Example decoding
HY-RCBO-B16C4P3A-V2 decodes as:
Hybird RCBO
Curve B (sensitive to inrush)
16 A rated current
Curve C [VERIFY: or another specification]
4-pole (three-phase + neutral)
3A [VERIFY: meaning]
Version 2
RCD sensitivity and contact ratings
Hybird RCBOs and RCDs are available in the following sensitivity grades:
30 mA: General protection (preferred for domestic circuits)
100 mA: Fault loop protection (for installations with poor earth or where 30 mA would nuisance trip)
300 mA: Equipment protection only (industrial circuits with high earth leakage tolerance)
[VERIFY: How these sensitivities are represented in the model number (e.g. are they part of the "3A" component, or are they specified separately in SKU/datasheet)]
Controller model naming convention
Hybird controllers use a different naming pattern:
HY-[FORM FACTOR]-[COMMUNICATION]-[POWER]
Common controller models:
ICO-C: [VERIFY: meaning of ICO and C; likely "Indoor Controller" or similar]. For indoor panel mounting. Single Ethernet port for network connectivity. [VERIFY: typical power consumption, communication options, any version designations]
ICO-CO: [VERIFY: meaning of CO; likely "Indoor Controller Outdoor" or "Indoor with Cellular Outdoor"]. Includes LTE cellular modem for sites without Ethernet. [VERIFY: power consumption, coverage requirements, SIM slot details]
BASE-LTE-LAN: [VERIFY: What this model is and its application. Possibilities: base station, gateway, router, or external communication module]
Power supply: Hybird controllers require an external power supply unit (PSU). The standard PSU is sold separately and costs 219 kr. [VERIFY: Input voltage, output voltage, power rating (watts)]
CE and RoHS certification
All Hybird breakers (RCBO, MCB, and RCD) are CE and RoHS certified. Certificate copies are available on request from [email protected].
Webshop SKU and GTIN format
In the Hybird webshop and on product packaging, each breaker variant is assigned a unique SKU (stock-keeping unit) with a GTIN barcode for inventory and point-of-sale use.
GTIN format: All Hybird breaker GTINs begin with 5744007
Example GTIN: 5744007-012345
[VERIFY: The full length of the GTIN (is it 12, 13, or 14 digits total?), and the meaning of the digits after the 5744007 prefix (do they encode curve, amperage, and poles, or are they arbitrary inventory codes?)]
The SKU and GTIN are printed on the breaker packaging and in the Hybird webshop. Use the SKU when ordering replacement breakers or spare stock.
Controller and accessory pricing
Hybird system components are priced as follows:
Controller (ICO-C or ICO-CO): 1,499 kr
Power supply unit (PSU): 219 kr
UPS (uninterruptible power supply): [VERIFY: price and whether this is sold separately or bundled]
Prices are in Danish Krone (DKK) and exclude VAT unless otherwise stated.
Software and service naming
Hybird platform services are named as follows:
Hybird OS: The cloud platform at the Hybird OS Platform, accessible via magic link authentication. This is the primary interface for monitoring and controlling your breakers remotely.
Hybird Connect: Compulsory cloud connectivity service. 49 DKK/month ex VAT. Required for all sites to enable remote access and real-time monitoring via Hybird OS.
Hybird Service: Optional managed monitoring and maintenance service. 499 DKK/month ex VAT. Includes 24/7 monitoring, fault alerts, and remote support. [VERIFY: what additional features or support are included beyond Connect]
Hybird Optimisation: [VERIFY: What this service includes, pricing, and target use cases]
Identifying your model
To find the model number of an installed breaker:
Look on the face of the breaker for printed text. The model number (e.g. HY-RCBO-B16C4P3A-V2) should be visible.
If not, remove the breaker carefully and check the back or sides.
Alternatively, check the original invoice or panel design documentation.
To find the controller model:
Look on the controller enclosure or its interior mounting plate.
Check the label inside Hybird OS under Settings > System Information [VERIFY: exact menu path].
Summary
Hybird's naming conventions are designed to make it easy to identify the right component for your needs. The breaker model tells you the type, protection curve, amperage, and pole configuration at a glance. The controller model indicates whether it is indoor or outdoor and what communication options it supports. Always verify the model number before ordering or commissioning a system.
