This glossary defines the key terms used across Hybird's products, agreements, and knowledge base. Use it as a quick reference when onboarding customers, Contractors, or Partners.
Products
Hybird Connect. The platform activation layer. Priced at 49 DKK ex. VAT per month per installation (588 DKK per year, invoiced annually). Connect brings the Hybird controller online and connects breakers to the Hybird OS Platform. Without Connect, Hybird breakers function as ordinary circuit breakers. Connect is the prerequisite for Service and Optimisation. All Connect revenue is retained by Hybird — there is no Contractor or Partner commission on Connect.
Hybird Service. The 12-feature monitoring, protection, and management subscription. Priced at 499 DKK ex. VAT per month per installation (on top of Connect). Service requires an active Connect subscription. Every Service customer receives all 12 features — there are no tiers, add-ons, or optional modules. Contractors earn a commission on the Service fee, with rates set out in the Certified Contractor Agreement.
Hybird Optimisation. AI-driven energy cost reduction through event-based triggering of breaker sets, including load shifting, peak balancing, and thermal battery management. Typical savings are approximately 30%. Optimisation is contracted directly between the end-customer and Hybird, and requires an active Service subscription (for installer-introduced customers). Contractors earn a share of Optimisation revenue for customers they introduced and maintain.
Total customer cost. Connect (49 DKK) + Service (499 DKK) = 548 DKK ex. VAT per month for the combined subscription.
Platform and infrastructure
Hybird OS Platform. The cloud platform where all Hybird data is accessible. Users log in via magic link authentication to view real-time and historical data, manage sites, configure alerts, and (where authorised) control breakers remotely. Hosted on AWS.
Edge Controller. The central device in each electrical panel that communicates with the Hybird OS Platform and relays data from connected breakers. Two variants: ICO-C (indoor, DIN rail) and ICO-CO (outdoor). Both run the same firmware and are priced identically at 1,499 DKK ex. VAT.
PSU. Power supply unit for the Edge Controller. Provides 24V DC. Priced at 219 DKK ex. VAT. Required for every installation.
UPS. Uninterruptible power supply that provides backup power to the Edge Controller in the event of mains failure. Lithium-ion battery. Priced at 699 DKK ex. VAT. Sold individually, not bundled.
Modbus RTU. The communication protocol used between the Edge Controller and Hybird breakers. Runs over RS485 physical layer at 500 Kbps. Up to 80 breakers per controller (practical limit; 247 is the theoretical Modbus limit).
Breakers
Hybird RCBO. Residual current operated circuit breaker with overcurrent protection. Available in 2-pole (single-phase) and 4-pole (three-phase) configurations. C curve is standard stock; B curve is available made-to-order (4-week lead time). Residual current sensitivity options: 30 mA, 100 mA, 300 mA.
Hybird MCB. Miniature circuit breaker, overcurrent protection only (no residual current detection). Available in 1P, 2P, 3P, and 4P configurations. B or C curve.
Hybird RCD. Residual current device, earth leakage protection only (no overcurrent protection). Type B (DC-capable) is standard stock; Type A is available made-to-order. Used in combination with MCBs for circuit protection.
Commercial roles
Hybird Certified Contractor (Contractor). A registered and authorised electrical installer certified by Hybird to sell, install, and service Hybird hardware. The Contractor contracts with end-customers in their own name using the Hybird Service Agreement template. Earns commission from Hybird on Service and Optimisation, with rates set out in the Certified Contractor Agreement.
Energy Partner (Partner). An energy consultant, advisor, or similar professional who sells and recommends Hybird products to end-customers. Partners do not install hardware — a Contractor handles installation. Partners earn revenue through markup (charging up to 50% above Hybird's base pricing), not commission. The Partner's pricing model is approved by Hybird once during onboarding.
Panel Builder. A company that integrates Hybird hardware into their own panel assemblies. Panel Builders purchase components at volume-discount pricing and are responsible for panel-level compliance.
Agreements
Certified Contractor Agreement. The commercial agreement between Hybird and a Contractor, covering certification, commission, prohibited activities, platform access, and termination.
Service Agreement. The contract between the Contractor and the end-customer for Hybird Connect and Hybird Service. Uses the Hybird-provided template.
Optimisation Agreement. The contract between Hybird and the end-customer for Hybird Optimisation. Separate from the Service Agreement.
Energy Partner Agreement. The commercial agreement between Hybird and an Energy Partner, covering the markup-based commercial model, pricing approval, and obligations.
Data and privacy
Data Processing Agreement (DPA). Required legal agreement under GDPR between Hybird (processor) and business customers (controllers). Must be signed by every end-customer before activation.
Marketing and Communication Consent form. The consent document allowing Hybird to contact the customer about Optimisation and other products. Must be signed before activation.
Eloverblik. The Danish national electricity data platform operated by Energinet. Hybird accesses hourly meter data via Eloverblik with customer consent (used for Optimisation savings verification).
Privacy Policy. Available at hyb.energy/privacy. Covers all data processing across Hybird products.
