Hybird aims to maintain continuous availability for both the Hybird OS platform and the on-site hardware. This article covers what to expect regarding planned and unplanned downtime.
Planned maintenance
Hybird periodically performs planned maintenance on the Hybird OS platform to deploy updates, security patches, and infrastructure improvements. Planned maintenance:
Is scheduled during low-usage periods (typically late evening or early morning).
Is communicated in advance where possible.
Is designed to be as brief as possible, typically under 30 minutes.
During planned maintenance, the Hybird OS dashboard may be temporarily unavailable. Your on-site hardware (controller and breakers) continues to operate normally - the controller queues data locally and uploads it once the platform is available again.
Unplanned downtime
In rare cases, the platform may experience unplanned downtime due to infrastructure issues. Hybird monitors its own systems and works to restore service as quickly as possible. Your on-site hardware is not affected by platform outages - breakers continue to provide protection and the controller continues to collect data.
Firmware updates
Controller firmware updates are deployed over-the-air (OTA). These are typically transparent and the controller downloads and installs the update without interrupting its operation. In some cases, a controller restart may be required, resulting in a brief gap (a few minutes) in data reporting.
How you are notified
For planned maintenance that may affect platform access, Hybird communicates through the appropriate channels (email to account administrators, in-platform notifications). For unplanned outages, Hybird provides status updates as the situation is resolved.
