Hybird OS · adding a new site

When a new Hybird installation is completed, the site needs to be set up in Hybird OS. This article covers the process.

Site creation

A site in Hybird OS represents a physical location where Hybird equipment is installed. Each site has a name, address, and is associated with a customer account. Site creation is done by Hybird support or the account administrator during the onboarding process.

Hybird OS sites list showing all monitored sites

To request a new site, provide:

  • Site name (typically the location name or address).

  • Full address.

  • Customer account name.

  • Controller UUID (from the label on the physical controller).

Controller registration

The Edge Controller is registered to the site using its UUID. Once registered:

  • The controller appears on the site page in Hybird OS.

  • Its status (last seen, uptime) is visible.

  • Breaker scanning becomes available.

Breaker scanning and assignment

  • Navigate to the controller page in Hybird OS.

  • Run a breaker scan. The controller polls the RS485 bus and reports all detected breakers with their Modbus IDs.

  • Detected breakers appear in a list. Each breaker is identified by its Modbus ID.

  • Name each breaker to match the circuit it protects. Use clear, descriptive names (e.g., "L-1 Ground floor lighting", "L-5 Kitchen sockets"). Good naming is critical · this is what support staff, customers, and Maggie will see.

Verifying data flow

After breakers are scanned and named:

  • Check that each breaker shows live measurements (voltage, current, power, leakage, temperature).

  • Verify that the breaker states (on/off) match the physical positions.

  • Check the controller's "last seen" timestamp to confirm continuous connectivity.

Configuring optimisation (if applicable)

If the site has Hybird Optimisation, the flexible load circuits need to be identified and configured in the optimisation schedule. This is typically done during or shortly after the onboarding call with the customer.

Configuring alerts (if applicable)

If the site has Hybird Service, alert thresholds should be configured for each breaker or group of breakers. Default thresholds apply, but these can be adjusted based on the specific loads on each circuit. See the Alerts and Thresholds article for details.

Note on Maggie access

Maggie, the AI support agent, uses breaker names from Hybird OS to assist customers and installers. However, Maggie cannot access real electricity consumption data or customer-specific operational details. Maggie uses only the information provided in the conversation and publicly documented breaker names.
