If a Hybird controller is not reporting data to Hybird OS, the system appears offline. Follow these steps to diagnose and resolve the issue.
Step 1: Check the controller's power
The Hybird Edge Controller is powered by the power supply unit, which converts 230V AC to 24V DC. For outdoor installations, an outdoor-rated enclosure is available. Verify:
The PSU is receiving mains power (check the upstream breaker or supply).
The PSU's LED status indicator confirms it is operational.
The 24V DC connection between the PSU and controller is secure.
If the site has a UPS (uninterruptible power supply), check whether the UPS battery is charged and the controller is receiving power through the UPS.
Step 2: Check the controller's LED status
The controller's LED indicators show its current state. Note the LED colour and pattern and compare against the LED Status Indicators reference article. If the LED is off entirely, the controller is not receiving power · return to Step 1.
Step 3: Check network connectivity
The controller connects to Hybird OS via the internet. It supports Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and LTE connections.
Ethernet (preferred): Check the Ethernet cable is connected to the controller and to the network switch or router. Check for link lights on the Ethernet port. Verify the network has internet access.
Wi-Fi: Verify the Wi-Fi network is operational and the controller is within range. Check that the Wi-Fi credentials have not changed.
LTE: Check signal strength. LTE connectivity requires an active SIM card and data plan. The monthly LTE data cost is approximately 40 DKK.
The controller uses a fallback sequence: it tries Ethernet first, then Wi-Fi, then LTE. If all three are unavailable, the controller operates offline and queues data for upload when connectivity is restored.
Step 4: Restart the controller
If the controller has power and network access but is still not reporting:
Power-cycle the controller by disconnecting the 24V DC supply for 10 seconds, then reconnecting.
Wait 2-3 minutes for the controller to boot and establish a connection.
Check Hybird OS for the controller's "last seen" timestamp to confirm it has reconnected.
Step 5: Check for firmware issues
If the controller came back online briefly after a restart but went offline again, or if it is in an unusual state, it may need a firmware update or manual recovery. Contact Hybird support for assistance through [email protected].
Step 6: Escalate
If the controller remains offline after the above steps, contact Hybird support with:
Site name and controller name/UUID
LED status observed
Network type (Ethernet/Wi-Fi/LTE) and results of connectivity checks
Whether the controller was recently moved, modified, or updated
