Eloverblik explained · what it is and why Hybird uses it

Eloverblik is a key part of how Hybird verifies electricity savings. This article provides background for installers, partners, and customers.

What is Eloverblik?

Eloverblik (eloverblik.dk) is Denmark's official electricity data platform, operated by Energinet, the Danish transmission system operator. It provides standardised access to electricity consumption data from smart meters across Denmark.

Every electricity meter in Denmark reports hourly consumption data to Eloverblik via the distribution grid company. This data is available to the meter owner (the customer) and, with consent, to authorised third parties.

What data does Eloverblik provide?

Eloverblik provides:

  • Hourly meter-level consumption data (kWh per hour).

  • Historical consumption data (typically several years of history).

  • Metering point identification and metadata.

It does not provide real-time data - there is a delay of approximately 1-2 days before data appears. It also does not provide circuit-level data (that is what the Hybird breakers provide).

How Hybird uses Eloverblik

Hybird uses Eloverblik data for two main purposes:

  • Baseline establishment:Before Hybird Optimisation is activated, Eloverblik data provides the historical consumption baseline - what the customer was consuming before optimisation. This baseline is essential for calculating verified savings.

  • Savings verification:After optimisation is active, Eloverblik data provides an independent, grid-level confirmation of the customer's total consumption. Comparing this against the baseline and against what the customer would have paid at prevailing spot prices without optimisation gives a verified savings figure.

Why Eloverblik in addition to Hybird breaker data?

Hybird breakers provide granular, real-time, per-circuit data - far more detailed than Eloverblik. However, Eloverblik provides independent, third-party-verified total consumption from the grid meter. Using both together gives the most accurate and trustworthy savings calculation: Hybird data shows what happened at the circuit level, and Eloverblik confirms the total at the meter level.

Customer consent

Accessing a customer's Eloverblik data requires their explicit consent, given through the Eloverblik platform using NemID or MitID authentication. The consent grants Hybird read-only access to the customer's hourly meter data. The customer can revoke consent at any time.

See the Eloverblik Consent Process article for the step-by-step guide.
