Installer accounts and customer accounts · who sees what

The two Hybird account types explained · what an Installer account can see and do versus a customer account, and the tell-tale symptom when someone is signed in with the wrong one.

Overview

The Hybird platform has two account types, and what appears in the app and the web platform depends on which one is signed in · not on who the person is. This matters most during a panel build: the commissioning flow only exists on the Installer side, so signing in with the wrong account looks like a missing feature when it is really a wrong login.

Installer account

Created through installer registration · see How to register as a Hybird installer. An Installer account can:

  • Use the installer resource site at installers.hybird.energy · guides, documentation and the support chat. The resource site holds no site or customer data · panels, projects and commissioning are worked on in the Hybird app and Hybird OS, not on the resource site.

  • See and run the panel build flow in the Hybird app · scanning devices to their planned slots, the per-breaker Assembly guide, address recovery, and moving a panel through its lifecycle stages to Operating.

  • Be added as a user on the customer accounts of the sites they service. Editing a customer site's data · for example renaming devices and breakers · requires being a user on that customer account; installer access to the site alone does not grant edit rights. The account in use decides what appears on screen.

The per-breaker build flow in the app, shown alongside the physical work · these screens only appear when signed in with an Installer account.

Customer account

A customer account is the end-customer view of an installed system. It can:

  • See consumption, live measurements and device data for its own panels.

  • Switch breakers remotely and manage alarms, depending on the service level.

  • Edit its own site's data, including device and breaker names · see Hybird OS · naming and labelling breakers. An installer who needs to rename a customer's devices must be added to that customer account as a user.

A customer account cannot see or run the panel build flow · no scanning, no Assembly guide, no lifecycle steps.

The tell-tale symptom

"I have the panel open but I cannot see the build steps" · or the Monteringsguide is missing · almost always means the person is signed in with a customer account. The fix is to sign out and sign back in with the Installer account, then reopen the panel.

It is rare for one person to hold both account types, but it does happen · for example an installer who has been given a customer login for a site they support. When troubleshooting, always establish which account type is currently signed in before anything else.

Summary

Installer accounts see the build and commissioning tools in the Hybird app · device scanning, the Assembly guide and panel lifecycle steps · while installers.hybird.energy is a resource site only, holding no site data. Customer accounts see the operating system view · consumption, live data, remote switching and editing of their own device names · and never the build flow. Editing a customer's data, including renaming devices, requires being a user on that customer account; installer access alone does not grant it. Missing build steps means the wrong account type is signed in, not a missing feature.
