Addressed breaker not responding · give the controller the new topology

The address was set successfully but commands to the breaker fail · the controller needs the updated device layout. The Synchronise step handles this during assembly · on an operating panel, contact Hybird support.

The symptom

You have addressed a breaker · the app confirmed the address was set, and the breaker's LEDs behaved correctly through setup mode and back to work mode. But when you then try to use the breaker, commands fail: a switch command reports a failure, or nothing happens on the panel at all. The controller itself is online and reporting normally.

Why it happens

The controller works from a stored device layout · the topology · that tells it which Modbus addresses exist on its bus. Setting a new address on a breaker updates the breaker, but the controller does not automatically know a new address has appeared. Until the controller is given the updated layout, it will not talk to the new address, and commands to that breaker fail even though the addressing itself succeeded.

During assembly · use the Synchronise step

The Assembly guide handles this for you. After every device is addressed, the app prompts you to synchronise · this sends the panel's device layout to the controller. Complete that step before running the device self-test. If the self-test fails on a breaker you know was addressed correctly, check the synchronise step completed and run it again.

On an operating panel · contact Hybird support

If a breaker is added or re-addressed on a panel that is already Operating, the controller's topology update is handled by Hybird support. Contact support once the address is set · support sends the updated device layout to the controller and restarts it remotely. Allow a few minutes after the restart: the controller reboots and then reconnects over the mobile network before it can receive commands again. Once it is back online:

  1. Confirm the breaker is back in work mode.

  2. Support sends a test command while you watch the breaker's LEDs.

Still not responding?

If commands still fail after synchronising, check for an address conflict · see Modbus address collisions · troubleshooting guide · and run the on-site checks in On-site visual checks · what to inspect on a Hybird panel.

Summary

A successful address set is only half the job · the controller must also learn the new layout. In assembly, that is the Synchronise step before the self-test. On an operating panel, contact Hybird support · support updates the topology and restarts the controller, then give it a few minutes to reconnect before testing.
